Evan Cervi joined Prairie Engineers in 2011 and was our first full-time employee (after Lisa and Darren). Evan attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering with a specialization in land surveying. He serves as a civil engineer, survey crew chief, and construction observer. Evan also has experience as an equipment operator and laborer working for his family’s farm and construction business installing waterlines, storm sewers, and other utilities.
Evan's surveying experience includes topographical mapping, boundary surveys, right-of-way and easement surveys, construction staking, and route surveys on airports and railroads and for municipalities. He has experience in the development of topographical mapping drawings and surface models to supplement engineering design projects using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microstation. Evan has also served as the resident engineer or construction observer on roadway, streetscape, sewer, water and drainage projects.
When away from the office, Evan enjoys spending time with family and friends. He enjoys golfing, hunting, and fishing, gardening, cooking and being outdoors. His daughter is just old enough to go on hikes, she is fascinated by every rock, pine cone, bug and flower she sees along the way, which makes for long hikes.
