CADD Technician

As a small, progressive, and growing business, at Prairie Engineers you will be presented with a wide range of challenges and the ability to work with a collaborative and highly functional team to solve them.  We are looking to add a CADD Technician to perform drafting and design to support roadway, bridge, site, and utility planning and design projects.  This work will primarily support federal, state, and local government projects in Illinois and adjoining States.

Essential job functions include:

  • Coordinate within a design team and follow specific CADD standards.
  • Use CADD software to prepare construction drawings, complete quantity calculations, and develop project deliverables.
  • Focus on project delivery and client service with attention to detail and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Two years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team of engineers, surveyors, and scientists, to communicate and coordinate effectively within the project team, and to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Project a professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in geometric layout, grading, and related design.
  • Previous experience on Illinois or other state DOT projects.
  • Five or more years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD).
  • Proficiency with AutoDesk Civil3D.
